Sampling for tests. A sufficient number of specimens shall be randomly selected from each lot to perform each test specified. See test methods paragraph below to determine which tests are applicable.
Test methods.
1. Pipe shall be tested in accordance with ASTM D 2239.
2. Sustained pressure and environmental cracking tests shall be conducted in accordance with ASTM D 2239 only NSF label or listing has been withheld from the pipe submitted for acceptance by the Government.
The issues of ASTM D 2239 and NSF 14 in effect on the date of the solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with these requirements.
Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking. The packaging, preservation, packaging, packing, labeling and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
Examination of preparation for delivery requirements. An examination shall be made to determine that the packaging, packing, and marking comply with the requirements specified. Defects shall be scored in accordance with table III. For examination of interior packaging, the sample unit shall be one shipping container fully prepared for delivery random just prior to the closing operations listed shall be examined on shipping containers fully prepared for delivery. The inspection level shall be S-2 with an AQL of 4.0 percent defective.
