Pressure rating.
Class B, Grade 1-100 psi
Class B, Grade 2-80 psi
Class C, Grade 2-100 psi
Class C, Grade 3-80 psi
Conformance. Pipe shall conform to the requirements of ASTM D 2239 and National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Standard No. 14.
Workmanship. Pipe shall be free of cracks, holes, foreign inclusions and any defects which may impair durability, appearance, and serviceability.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
Sampling and inspection. Inspection levels and acceptable quality levels (AQL) shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105.
Lot information. For purposes of inspection sampling, a lot shall consist of all pipe of the same grade and class offered for acceptance at one time.
Dimensional and visual examination of end item. Pipe and tubing shall be examined for the characteristics listed in Table II. Examination shall be in accordance with level S-3, using an AQL of 2.5 percent defective for major defects and 6.5 defective for total defects. Dimensions of PE pipe shall be measured in accordance with ASTM D 2239.
